Forever Yours

I fought off the premonition felt in the pit of gut.

My soul holding on in hopes of forever.

Perhaps later in our lives we could be,

but as of now our dreams do not align.

I would never dare ask you give up your dreams;

perhaps it was too selfish to ask for the same courtesy.

I told you I was in love with you, and meant it with every pulse felt in my chest,

and I will continue to love you until the moment I am dead;

but where you are going now I cannot follow.

I wish for you to be happy, and follow your path.

Hope and love and dream as though it will forever last.

Although my heart be forlorn, it continues to beat;

for as long as there is a you in this world; there will always be me.

When your dream has been fulfilled and your kismet seen;

perhaps then you will long to return to complete a previous journey.

Alone in this world for as long as I may breathe.

I hope with all my heart that you'll someday find your way back home to me.
